Editorial
Starship erscheint wieder, nach längerer Zeit. Ab jetzt planen wir, zweimal im Jahr herauszukommen. Das nächste Heft ist also für Sommer 2015 geplant. Es gibt eine neue Redaktion mit Nikola Dietrich und Henrik Olesen, der bereits bei Heft 11 Gast-Editor war, Martin Ebner und Ariane Müller, die Starship (gemeinsam mit Hans-Christian Dany und Gunnar Reski) 1998 gegründet haben. Weiters gibt es einen neuen Grafiker, Dan Solbach und seine Mitarbeiterin Katerina Trakakis, sowie eine neue Schrift, die von Fabian Harb nach Vorlage von Wilhelm Bilz entworfen wurde.
Zu Beginn der Arbeit an dieser Ausgabe haben wir die AutorInnen und KünstlerInnen eingeladen, sich mit einem zugegeben recht vagen Thema zu beschäftigen.
Wir schrieben: Starship is what lies in the German word Zeitschrift, wherein the word Zeit (time) hints at what it speaks out of, and at a time in which it is made, and this also means that it most possibly wouldn’t mean anything, if it would not also take an active part in its time. In this, something like the theme has always evolved when talking with friends and people we admire, and inviting people, not in regard to its audience, but in creating a relation between the contributions and contributors in the issue. This means it is multivocal, and the direction the texts and pictures take while dissolving into the readers has no clear conception predefined by the editors (or what may be called a programme), meanwhile we naturally support all we publish.
This said, we may add that until now, we have been thinking about machines, and mostly time machines, and maybe that this had to do with social dystopias, and is still a construction site.
Nun, auch durch unseren Wunsch, andere Arbeiten und Texte zu inkludieren, hat sich dieses Thema als Thema für die Zeitschrift in das, was in dem Wort Zeitschrift eben liegt, nämlich die Zeit, in der es entstanden ist, hinein aufgelöst.
Einige der Texte sind Abdrucke aus Büchern, die eben erschienen sind und für die wir unsere LeserInnen begeistern wollen, anderes entstand parallel zu Ausstellungen und Performance-Arbeiten der letzten Zeit.
Wir freuen uns, dass Starship Nº 12 gedruckt ist und sind sehr stolz auf alle unsere AutorInnen und KünstlerInnen.
