Anita Leisz for Bibliothek Feuerlöscher 2
The point of inception of the Haus Feuerlöscher library lies in the social and intellectual history of the so-called “Prenniger Kreis” and its reception. Members of this group found refuge at Haus Feuerlöscher in the 1930s and actively resisted the emerging totalitarian tendencies of their time—namely Austrofascism and National Socialism. The library, conceived with the involvement of artists and scientists, forms a further foundation at the historical site for the continuous and active renewal of the memory of their resistance. Currently, it contains 103 books.
